RIAN

Rian lent a helping hand during What We Eat’s busy 2015 holiday season between shifts at Locanda Verde. Before she knew it, she was hooked. She joined the What We Eat team for good in early 2016.

Rian’s main passions in life are food and travel. From living in Alabama and South Carolina to Florence, Italy and London, she is proud to call New York her new home away from home. Rian enjoys cooking all types of cuisines and loves the challenge of learning new techniques and mastering unfamiliar recipes.

Rian has a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant and Hospitality Management from the University of Alabama.  Later, she studied culinary arts at Apicius School of Hospitality in Florence, Italy. There that she found her passion for travel and culture. Thanks to her enriching experience, she was inspired to train and graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in London.

Favorite foods to cook: PROTEINS. Rian is a carnivore by heart and loves the butchery process. Whether it’s steak, salmon or a whole chicken, she always on game.

Last meal: Medium-rare steak with chimichurri, avocado toast with a poached egg and Laura’s lacinto kale salad with shiitake mushrooms and hazelnuts.
