1:1 NON-DIET NUTRITION THERAPY

1:1 intuitive eating nutrition coaching and non-diet nutrition therapy to help you rebuild a trusting and responsive relationship between your body and mind, stop the food fight and be all-in in life.

Ready to find a way to practice health so that you can be all-in in life?

Tell me about your services.

Do you

  • Feel confused or overwhelmed about how to eat?
  • Feel frustrated by dieting or have a history of weight loss and regain?
  • Sometimes feel out of control around food?
  • Feel tired about thinking about food and your body all the time and the constant inner chatter that comes along with it?
  • Care about health but want to practice it in a way that leaves you feeling good physically, emotionally and psychologically?
  • Want to feel more confident in choosing foods that you love, make you feel good and optimize health?
  • Want to model a healthy relationship to food and your body for others?
  • Have a health condition that you have been told is nutrition-related such as high blood pressure, cholesterol or diabetes, and would like a sustainable approach to improving it?
  • Struggle with disordered eating or an eating disorder and need someone to walk alongside you during your recovery?

First of all, if any of that resonates, know that you are very much not alone. In our diet obsessed culture, we receive endless conflicting nutrition messages from friends, social media, and sometimes even our doctors about what practicing health “should” look like. Add that to the oftentimes unsupportive messages we might have gotten growing up about food and our bodies, it’s no wonder that eating feels complicated. When external rules and beliefs guide our eating and we ignore our own body’s needs, we set our body and mind up for an uncomfortable fight where we lose. Our non-diet nutrition therapy work helps you repartner your body and mind so that eating feels uncomplicated.

I’m ready to book.

Imagine a life where

  • Food feels neutral to you. You know food is not “good” or “bad” and you are not good or bad for eating it. You have no guilt or shame around how you eat.
  • You choose what to eat based on what sounds good and how you want to feel. You know how different food makes you feel.
  • You feel and trust your body’s hunger and fullness cues. You respond to them without struggle and are free to get back to living fully without food thoughts between meals and snacks.
  • You feel flexible enough to know you’re not always going to get it “right” and that’s okay; in fact, you know that’s healthy.
  • You eat. You feel good. You move on.

Through our work, you will discover ways to practice health that work for you so that you can be all-in in life.

Here’s how it works.

Non-Diet Nutrition Therapy Services

Note: I am in-network with Aetna and Health First health insurance. Benefits vary considerably between plans so I recommend calling your insurance company to ask about your specific coverage.  If you have out-of-network insurance benefits with another insurance company, these may apply to nutrition services. If so, you can pay for your sessions directly and then I will provide you with a Superbill receipt that you can submit to your insurance company. Depending on your benefits, you may be able to receive full or partial reimbursement for your nutrition counseling sessions. I also accept HSA and FSA payments when eligible with your insurance plan.

Discovery Call (20 minutes)

Free

This complimentary introductory call gives us a chance to begin to get to know your food story, your goals and what type of support you think you need. I will share a little bit about what I think our work might look like and how I typically work with clients. From there, if it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule your Initial Nutrition Assessment.

Initial Nutrition Assessment (one to three 60-minute sessions)

$200.00/session

Here is where we dig in. Over the course of several “initial” sessions, we’ll discuss your experience with food and nutrition from childhood to present day, focus on what guides your eating now and what it actually looks and feels like. We’ll also review your health history and other supporting behaviors like stress management, sleep, and movement. These sessions will begin to help you and I understand some of what might be causing your current food habits and give us a roadmap for where we focus our work. On average, the Initial Assessment takes two sessions but could be completely in as little as one or up to three sessions.

Follow-Ups (50 minute sessions)

$175.00/session

Untangling belief systems and learning a new way to relate to food, your body and health takes time. I typically work with clients for 3-6 months meeting weekly or every other week, especially to start.

With the exception of our first follow-up when I may provide a roadmap for where I think our work will take us based on our initial meeting, you guide our follow-ups. We start by reviewing any wins or challenges since our previous meeting, or plan for any expected challenges in the coming week(s). The principles of Intuitive Eating provide our framework.

Unlike diets which may feel straightforward and easy to start but then feel increasingly hard to stick to overtime, expect this work to feel challenging and maybe a little vague in the beginning and then more straightforward, easy and joyful overtime. This is because our work will center your body’s experience; by listening, trusting and responding to your body’s needs, you will partner with your body instead of fighting against it. Getting to that place takes time but it is possible and worth it.

About this package:

Discovering a new way to relate to food and your body takes time. This 6-month package provides  the ongoing, high-touch support you need to become a confident intuitive eater. We will use our time to get clear on your current food behaviors and the roots of where your food behaviors come from — your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Just as in the 3-Month Nutrition Launch Package, by the end of the 6-Month Nutrition Commitment Package, you will have a solid understanding of what intuitive eating is. The benefit of the additional 3 months in this package is that we can address whatever challenges come up to becoming a confident intuitive eater together. “If you treat your body kindly and consistently and nourish it, its feedback is also consistent, predictable and kind. It’s a relationship and we need to tend to it.”
